What does the Cambridge Speaking test?
Part 1 — Interview (2 min)
The examiner asks personal questions about your life, work, hobbies or future plans. Fluency and naturalness are assessed.
Part 2 — Long turn with photos (1 min)
You describe and compare two images for one minute, answering a specific question. Rich vocabulary and the ability to speculate are key.
Part 3 — Collaborative task (3 min)
You negotiate and reach an agreement with another candidate on a given topic. Interaction, proposing ideas, debating and compromising are all assessed.
Part 4 — Discussion (4 min)
The examiner leads a deeper conversation on the Part 3 topic. The ability to develop opinions and argue in depth is assessed.
